On Saturday the 21st of March the Swedish Budo & Martial Arts Federation (SB&K) held their annual General Meeting. At the same day there were also annual general meetings for the Shorinji Kempo section of SB&K and the Swedish Shorinji Kempo Federation.
The big question on this years general meeting in SB&K was the proposed suggestion of changing the federation's organisation. There was also a few new arts/sports that wanted to become members of SB&K. The proposed change of organisation was accepted by an uninominous meeting and this means that the previos sections are going to be replaced by the different arts sub-federations. This also means that SB&K have 23 different arts/sports and a great number of sub-federations. All arts/sports except Aikido and Wushu had already before the meeting formed their federations and was approved by the meeting. SB&K will have 14 sub-federations since the arts witin the previous Kendo section will be part of the new Kendo federation and Glima, FMA, Krav Maga and Capoeira choose to form a common martial arts federation.
For Shorinji Kempo in Sweden this means that our Swedish Shorinji Kempo Federation now is a sub-federation to the Swedish Budo & Martial Arts Federation. In the mornings meeting for the Shorinji Kempo Federation there were a few changes in the board. The numner of board members were changed to five ordinary members and two substitute members.
The new board consists of Anders Pettersson as president, Anders Magnusson vice president, Pontus Haglund treasurer, Peter Hansen secretery and Robert Liljeblad board member. Substitute board members are Stefan Jönsson Levin and Lovisa Johnsson.
